Virat Kohli will step down as RCB captain after IPL 2021

Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday announced that Virat Kohli will step down because the captain of RCB after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League 2021 season. Kohli said during a video uploaded on RCB’s official Twitter handle, “Hello everyone, the whole RCB family, the wonderful fans of Bangalore, and every one those that have supported us. I even have to form an announcement.”
Kohli further said, “I spoke to the management tonight, it had been on my mind for a few times.”
“This is getting to be my last IPL because of the captain of RCB. i will be able to be an RCB player till I play my last IPL match. I thank all the RCB fans for believing in me and supporting me,” Kohli said.
“I want to decide to the responsibilities that I’m carrying which i felt I needed space to be fresh, to regroup, and to be absolutely clear on the way to move forward,” Kohli said.
“It has been an excellent journey of nine years, with moments of joy and despair, joy and sorrow,” he said.
Kohli has been with RCB since the inception of IPL in 2008. He was appointed captain in 2011 but has been unable to win the trophy for the franchise. Under him, RCB’s best performance came in 2016 when the team reached the last word, with Kohli leading the way with 973 runs including four centuries. this is often the foremost run scored by a player during a single edition of the IPL.
