Loose Ends

Last November, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) published a report on how COVID-19 lockdowns had impacted educational outcomes. Worryingly, it stated students from diverse and less privileged backgrounds were the most likely to fall behind. This is due to several factors, such as fewer support networks, a more disruptive home life, and a lack of access to digital technologies and devices. As such, the OECD made several recommendations to promote equal opportunity, including the rapid and widespread adoption of online learning.
